I am trying to relocate with in the City of Chattanooga , but having a hard time because I have 5 elderly cats and I'm not seeing much under $1000 as far as rent. Can you recommend some decent places to live or apartments/spaces that might except more than 2-3 pets, aren't too strict as far as credit checks, and would be in the city ( preferably) or with in 5 -10 minutes from Chattanooga especially E. 23 street? An artists areas with low-cost housing for rent? I know I am asking for the impossible, but don't ask, don't get.

Unfortunately the two "artist areas" (Main St./Southside and the North Shore) are both very popular for other reasons, and therefore quite expensive. Sorry I can't help.

Don't claim to have more than one or two cats. As long as they are indoor cats its don't ask don't tell. There is nothing cheap about renting with a dog or cat. You can get away with a deposit for one cat but than there is a month cat rent per cat. I declare only one cat each time and make sure they are in a separate room and I have to be home when maintenance comes in. Other wise you might look for a private owner to rent from -still expensive

I second this. I've done the same. Only tell them you have two cats and pay the fee. Lots of people do this.

Something like this would get you booted from one of my properties. Lying on the application when it comes to number of people, or number of pets is clearly spelled out in the lease. We don't really want dishonest people renting from us.

Then it's a good thing he's not looking in your signature town isn't it?

Try looking north into suburbs of Cleveland, TN or south into GA.
