Great news...we have decided to spend our stimulus $$$ on a visit to the Chattanooga area. DH needs to get around to visit all the possible locations for his job transfer and we want to check out areas for possibilities to buy a house. Problem is...with our work schedules the best week for us happens to be the same week as the Riverbend Festival. Do you think the extra crowds of people will hinder our true focus of the trip? Of course, it's great that we would actually be there for the festival, but worry that it will be hard to get around and we won't get a true feel for the area. If we don't go that week, it will have to wait until August

Bluebird - Go for it! What a wonderful time to be in the Chatt area. Maybe stay on the outskirts or down in Georgia. Plenty of areas around and the Riverbend festival would be worth it, I think...

Thanks, Grizzly.....it's looking good so far that we will be making the trip. We should be in the area from Tuesday - Saturday the week of the Festival. I'm going to try and book us a hotel room tomorrow.

I've researched hotels in the area and have pretty much decided on the Best Western Heritage Inn on Lee Hwy. for our trip next month. Anyone have any feedback on the hotel itself or the area it is in?

I think I did check out the Microtel, but if I remember correctly, it didn't have fridges in the rooms and we need one for my husband's insulin. I'll check again...have you stayed there?

Our trip for June has been postponed until July. We will miss the Riverbend Festival, but we'll have more time to plan the trip. It is already so hot & dry here in TX...I can't imagine spending another whole summer here! I had hoped to be all packed and moving by now. Jobs....they hold everything up!
