Sweet, if I was an out of state manufacturer I would MUCH rather move to Chatty than Alabama or Michigan. The quality of life would have to be much better. Also, the revitilized downtown/riverfront had to have helped.

You can quit with the put down of other states, but I have come to extend warm congratulations. Congratulations to Chattanooga, it's elected officials, and state officials for grabbing such a large economic prize. It will definetly help your area become what it wants to become. Huntsville is not hurting for economic development, but it would have been a nice gold belt buckle, if you allow me. You deserve what you have received and I wish you all good fortune. This helps to solidify the South as the preferred region for auto manufacturing. Maybe Audi will come to Huntsville now?

Nonetheless, it was nice to see three great states battling it out for the prize. All this does is prepare Alabama and Michigan for the future competitions that might happen. Peace out.

No kidding! While VW was looking at a spot near Huntsville which is a pretty nice city, I think Chattanooga is hard to beat.

The devil is in the details, of course, and I'm wondering just how much money Tennessee is having to give VW to come to Chattanooga. But I just can't help but believe that VW will be a good thing for SE TN and that other related plants will locate in Tennessee.

I can't wait for VW to have the official groundbreaking! It'll be fun to watch that factory grow.

No put downs just my politically incorrect opinion.

Hey hey -- I'm really happy for you guys. I was in Chattanooga for a short few hours over the weekend of the 4th, and I reallly like the look & feel of your downtown now -- been decades since I was there before. I've been thinking for weeks the plant would go there if I was in charge. And I think the governor and senators you have are all class acts, couldn't have hurt the cause. congrats ---TG, Houston
