Sekusi on Market is also very good. It's on the 2nd floor, has outside tables that are great in the warmer months and they also have discounts available on restaurant.com. They have sushi, which I don't eat, as well as really good Japanese food. Fair prices too with early bird specials daily.

Thanks StaffSgt, someone else also recommended that place. Their menu looks enticing. Have you had Sushi Nabe? If so, how would you compare the two?

If you're looking for some other options in Chattanooga, you might check this out. It looks like a new review site for Chattanooga dining, not a lot of posts but lots of restaurants listed.

Hey, has anyone in here tried the City Cafe's cakes? Do you know who their distributor is?

First, I apologize to so many people that I want to meet on this forum in the Chattanooga area. My wife, brother, and I visited the area this past weekend to look at our property and begin plans on building on it one day, hopefully sooner than later. Our time was pretty consumed by meeting with builders, getting a feel for what we want to do, and when.

What does that have to do with food? Well, we tried a few restaurants, not previously sampled. As dasmarian mentioned above, the Boathouse will probably now be on my must visit list everytime we do visit. I had the raw oysters and the cajun boiled shrimp with their cocktail sauce that had a big blob of horseradish. Excellent!

We also visited the Blue Plate which was excellent, in downtown in Chattanooga near the river on Chestnut Street. Pretty much the authentic diner experience!

Taco Mamacita on N. Market, right after Frazier Av. on left has great gourmet tacos for about 3$ a piece, yummy.

212 Market (at the same address) is the best high-end, local food in town with the best servers and wine list - also TN's only certified green restaurant.

Hennon's is a lil' expensive for what you get and the quality, but beautiful ambience.

Table 2 in Southside is beautiful style and apps.

Meeting Place on Market around 14th, great food and drinks - St. John's step-child, which is next door and fancy.

Boathouse is great but service sucks - and it makes me sick every time, but I keep going back for the Lotta Lotta Garlic Chicken and texas dip. My BFF just got food poisoning from the oysters there, but oysters are always risky.

You want classy? As in this place is super cool - check out Easy Bistro on Broad Street. Felt like I was in South Beach and the food is killer

Default more

New addiction! I cannot stop eating at Good Dog! Best vegetarian dogs I've ever had!! We used to get veg dogs at the little deli down in St.Elmo(forgot the name, starts with an s) but those days are over since Good Dog came along. So good!

Also, I love the new Terminal Brewhouse. Excellent beer, great lasagna, love the sweet potato fries too! I really love the 3 story building. Tons of booths! What a lively & busy place! It's nice to see such a flourishing business in the southside.

I'm also now diggin the University Pizza Place over by UTC on Vine Street. I know it sounds bizarre but they have really good very large falafel for 3.75!!!!! & there hummus & baba ghanoush seriously kicks a55!

I've started to think Country Life Vegetarian has been getting better too. They remodeled a bit & changed it to a weigh your food style bar. I had barbeque tofu & mashed potatoes, Mac & "cheese" with a stuffed cabbage dish that was all really good. I even had a salad with that meal & it was less than 6 bux! That was a shocker! So I'm thinkin there could still be a better vegan restaurant (especially because of the bland ambiance) but it's good for a quick lunch.

Default i heart new restaurant

New gorgeous restaurant opening this week! Alleia located @ 25 Main Street. I got a chance to sample/preview some of the food last week & it is absolutely delicious. Same owners as St. Johns & the Meeting Place. The quality is tops & the prices are a bit lower than there other restaurants. The ambiance is awesome & beautiful. Delicious wood fired pizzas & ravioli just to name a few things.

Alleia Restaurant yummy
