Hi, I'm new to the list but a long-time lurker on this forum. I've purchased a place in St. Elmo and was wondering if anybody had a recommendation on a bank with a local branch. I'm from California, and my present bank has no offices in Tennessee.

There is a Bank of America very close by, but BofA is NOT one of my favorite institutions to do business with. Are there any TN native banks that can be recommended.

The criteria is pretty basic: a "good" bank charges a minimum of fees, has an interesting rate of return, and is solvent.

-Thanks!

Welcome! I prefer Regions. I started out with them 24 years ago and have yet to have a single issue. They have quite a few branches very close to you, including one on Tennessee Ave. Even some ATMs in convenience stores. Give them a try.

When I was there I noticed several First Tennessee Bank branches in that area. I have been with them for about 12 years and have been very happy with them.

Default Thanks

Thanks for the input on the banks, they are all on the same street corner along with Bank of America, so bank shopping will be easy. I will also have a peek at the banks in Tiftonia.
