Searching for Downtown Living (Chattanooga: rental, houses, college)

Hello All,

I just got a new job that is going to cause me to relocate from Chicago, IL to lovely Chattanooga, TN. I am only 22 years old, a recent college grad, single, and looking for a place near the Chattanooga social scene. From the research I have done I seem to be looking for places in downtown and just over the river on the Northshore. I have not really found too many specific places, which is my question for all of you.

1) Where do the young people go for a good night out?

2) Where is a nice place to live either downtown or a quick inexpensive cab ride to the downtown?

There are a lot of rental houses in North Chatt. That would probably be your best bet. Bonus there is that it is walkable to downtown. N Chatt is probably definitely where you would want to be.

Chattanooga night life . . . hmmm, not too cosmo. Try Bluewater, they have a large bar and a lot of young professionals hang out after work. It's downtown on Broad.
