What area is considered the safest to live in (Cleveland)? Money is not really an option and I have an 11 year old son. Safety and security (Of course, schools) are my biggest concerns. Not a very rural person and I know Cleveland is not a city. You can probably tell, I've lived in a big city all my life. I'm moving from Chicago. But I hear Cleveland is beautiful. My move is job related so I'll rent first before I buy. Any suggestions. Thanks!

I don't think you need to worry about safety and security in a small town like Cleveland. If you want more of a city environment, you could live closer to Chattanooga and commute to Cleveland. But Cleveland schools are good, and I don't think it really matters what part of town you're in. It's a nice place.

Thanks. Any great areas in Chattanooga you suggest. As long as the commute is no more than 30 minutes (ish).

The Ooltewah area is a fast-growing part of Hamilton County (Chattanooga) and is about half-way between Chattanooga and Cleveland. The Harrison Bay area is also nice and is right on a big beautiful lake.

Ooltewah and Collegedale, which is between Ooltewah and Chattanooga, are nice areas. I believe that part of Hamilton County has very good schools, and you're only a few minutes from Hamilton Place Mall, the largest mall in Tennessee as well as all the cool things in downtown Chattanooga.

Lightbulb BRADLEY County

P:, . . JMT had good suggestion about the OOLTEWAH region. Being mentioned more since the MVP Quarterback super bowl. Yesterdays newspaper had BOOMER articles about some people geting some of the LOFT buildings in the CITY of Cleveland and remodeling them. I use to read the daily web newspaper for Cleveland before we moved to the region. A very religious College town / city. That tri-state corner very pretty and getting very popular.
.Many students are using private route / academy for serious prep.
Chattanooga is drawing from North ALA, and north of Atlanta to the BAYLOR Academy where many, over 50% live on campus(Boarding). Also a mix of International Students will make the College transition smoother.
