Seems odd: move to a place called Signal Mountain and then be surprised when the streets and driveways are steep and have lots of turns. If it weren't for those turns, you could always use a zip line to get down to the base. But how to get those groceries back up? Maybe the chamber of commerce could install some high wire gondolas like amusement parks used to have.

That was kind of rough... I moved to Nashville from Tampa in 2001 and love the diversity of Nashville.

The guy shouldn't have left Tampa for Chattanooga and thought it was going to be the same with the same things to do, ect, ect.

I love Chattanooga and love to visit but I personally would never live there. Although I am thinking of attending UTC, so who knows ?

btw, before you ask, I was born in Orlando and moved to Tampa when I was 2, moved in 2001 at age 18.

The point is one shouldn't make the biggest investment in their lives, a home, without doing tons of research first and visiting the areas several times before buying a property. Seems like the original poster did absolutely no research on his home, then bashes an entire city for his lack of homework.

You'd be supprised how many people I see in Nashville from California or Florida that constantly complain about Tennessee.

I won't lie, I complained when I moved here but I didn't have a choice or anywhere else to go. I'll admit now, I love Tennessee and coming here was one of the best things to ever happen to me.

Moving 800 miles to a place you've only heard of or gotten advice from various people on a forum is crazy.

Now, getting advice is great and good and is a good part of relocation, However, You want to visit the place first and see if you like it.

I can tell you that it's gumdrops and lollypops in Nashville when in reallity it's limabeans and brussel sprouts...

send those floridiots my way - love to straighten them out or send 'em packing.

this has become a major pet peeve of mine - FL people roaming around TN like they were back in the sunshine state. be glad to discuss more at the mini-meetup next week

what a great post, I had given a thought about there, however, am still in wesley chapel, florida.
What is nice here, today is 80, and I have the heat off, and the sun is shining so bright!

Yes, a new mall did open wiregrass, and people flock to it. Flordia is not heaven, and yes problems we do have. move back!

Way to hot for me too. I moved from FL and am totally enjoying the weather in TN. You can keep the 24/7 heat and humidity. Okay, maybe you get a few cooler days, but I can count those on 1 hand! I'll keep my 4 seasons here in TN and just be happy!

I'm sure those same people constantly complained about FL too.

Hey what's wrong with florida people?? I'm in florida and hoping to move to se tn asap. We do have 30% "native" floridians that I find similar to the people in TN. Not everyone in florida is on the beach or in the big city. We have nice country folk here in a lot of areas.
