I've been looking all over the webworldz for homes to rent. I currently rent a townhouse at an apartment complex 1 bdr 1 bath with limited space inside and out for 634 a month!

I believe for around the same money I could find a nice house to rent, but haven't had luck searching on my own for ads online...am I looking in the wrong places? what's the best way to find homes to rent?

craigslist hasn't be too helpful

Seems like there are quite a few in the times free press as so many have had no success selling their home. Maybe try there.

Good advice Jkme and Das. Also, if you know the area you want to live in, drive around that area and look for signs. Like Jkme said, there are more than the usual amount of houses for rent/lease/lease to own since sales are down. Just yesterday in North Chattanooga, I saw 3 yesterday while I was snappin' pictures at Coolidge Park and just drove up Barton Ave. - three of the houses looked nice from the outside and and one, well, was a little crunchy. There were 4 altogether on Barton Ave., but I couldn't find an ink pen and so I only remember 3 of the addys.
