SBF and 7th grader son moving to Chattanooga (East Brainerd: apartment complex, magnet school)

My son and I will be relocating to Chattanooga very soon. My primary concern is living in an area with a great middle school. I am looking at the East Brainerd area, but am having trouble finding out the names of the middle schools so that I can research them on greatschools.net.

Can someone here tell me the name of the middle school(s) in East Brainerd?

Also, can someone recommend a nice apartment complex that is very close to the middle school? Living near work is not an issue as I work remotely.

We will need a 2BR. I prefer a newer or updated property, if possible.

I am open to areas other than East Brainerd as long as the schools are great. I will not be bringing my vehicle with me, initially, so I must live somewhere that is on the CART line or very close to it.

there is a brand new middle/high school opening up in august that is zoned for east brainerd....it would not be on the greatschools web site, since it is brand new. It is called east hamilton middle/high.


some of east brainerd also is zoned for ootlewah middle.

there are some apartments on Gunbarrell road that are right at a carta stop (or really close). Gunbarrell road is where most of the retail shopping is located in East Brainerd (the mall, Wal-mart, restaraunts, etc) I think they are called Hamilton Chase. they are zoned for ooltewah middle. I don't really have an informed opinion about whether or not it is a good school....we are zoned for it, although my kids are in elementary, but have chosen to go the magnet school route, not because it is bad but because we really fell in love with the magnet school (CSLA).
