We visited Chattanooga last Saturday on a daytrip down from Monroe County while visiting our son.

I think Chattanooga has done a great job with the riverfront development. We rode the horse-drawn carriage with our five year old grandson and he loved it. We also rode the electric street car over to the Northside and back.

There are good activities for children with the aquarium and the children's museum.

We ate at the Big River Bar and Grille and found it quite good. We watched our Mountaineers defeat UConn and saw parts of the near upset of Alabama by the Vols.

Our disappointment was the River City Water Taxi's voice mail said they were operating on Saturday's from 4:00 to dusk but they did not open. This caused us to miss the tour of the Delta Queen.

I encourage you to visit this area.

Having visited the area earlier this year, I agree. Loved it, and have a transfer all lined to Chattanooga IF only we could sell our house in falling apart MI! The Vols came oh so close too.

No desire to leave my WV mountains for the TN mountains but love visiting there. If my next work assignment includes TN, I will definitely plan a stay of 2-4 days in the area.
