Is there a choice of home phone and cell phone companies? Is there any one that you guys think is better than the rest? And if one cell company has better reception than another. Please give me all your ideas. We have AT & T now in FL for home phone, cell phones and internet, it runs about $180.00 a month. I'm trying to cut corners($) without cutting too much service, if that is possible. And the fast access isn't too fast.

Athens is kinda far out from Chattanooga; you might have better luck in the general TN forums (one level up).

But a quick Google search shows that Comcast is the cable company for Athens. You'll have to contact them to see if they offer "bundled" services (TV, internet, phone) in that area.

As far as cell coverage Verizon is the way to go. They have the best coverage in rural areas by far. Any company will get you a voice signal near the interstate and in town, but if you travel in undeveloped areas no one will be able to hear you now. I know from personal experience that AT&T has zero coverage along Hwy 68 near the TN river (Watts Bar Dam).

Unfortunately, Verizon also one of the more expensive cell companies (they have to pay for all those towers somehow). If you think you'll always be within a few miles of the interstate, then you can save a few bucks by going with a cheaper carrier.
