Awesome vehicle and Chevy made sure to not price it out of the league of an ordinary Joe either. Very smart move having a unique vehicle that can hold its own with the new Ford Mustang and can start for $23K...you have a huge market of buyers at that price. They could've started it at around $30K and keep it a bit more rare but instead they throw a bone to car guys who don't have unlimited funds.

"already lost to the mustang". In a magazine article

I prefer the Camaro.

aesthetically i prefer the Camaro hands down, and i understand why you feel amicably towards the Camaro its an awesome car.

however, that "magazine article" actually raced the cars...tested the cars...pushed the cars.

the Mustang is back.

The 2011 Mustang is the superior "pony" car, now that it's backed by a real engine.\

I think the new Camaro look's the part, but fails to deliver in several ways. It's HEAVY. So heavy that the performance is blunted in many ways. It has a small interior for such a large car and has poor visibility. The weight though really is the issue. It just can't perform up to it's potential with the curb weight where it is. The car needs to lose 300-400 pounds before I would consider it where it's supposed to be.

As it sits, the Camaro is the better highway cruiser than the Mustang, but the Mustang can out handle, out brake and out accelerate the Camaro. Overall I think it was a nice styling effort, but they fell short on the performance side. Zeta was the only platform they had to use to make the car, but Zeta is simply too heavy. To put it into context, people complained that the newer model GTO's were too heavy to be a true performance car. The new Camaro weighs virtually the same, has only an extra 25hp and has a much smaller interior. I think people who buy them now are buying the look and the name. Cross shopping a Mustang against the Camaro, a performance enthusiast would pick Mustang everytime.

I think it's kind of ugly. It looks like it's trying too hard to look modern without looking Japanese. They should have gone more retro like the Mustang and the bad-a$$ looking Dodge Challenger. It just wound up somewhere in between American muscle and Japanese sport.

I hope it's more aerodynamic than it looks. The headlights look like they're set back in an air-catching pocket.

I agree. The photo in the OP is of a very tacky looking car.
