I was changing my spark plugs out a couple days ago, and ended up snapping one clean in two on reinstall. I had it towed to a shop (that Ive never been to) that's close to me. They extracted the broken plug and changed the rest of the plugs. They cleared the check engine light and it was off when I left. The truck was off when I started it and left. The very next time I get in, the check engine light was on. I stopped back by the place hoping it would just turn off, but they said it was a knock sensor code 0332. Two knock sensors $97 each, and the computer showed 2.7 hours. I really don't trust people, and this was the first time I had been to this location. Is there a way they could have made my knock sensor go bad somehow? (if it matters my 02 Silverado has a 4.8vortec and a generic 91 tune from a handheld tuner, that I no longer have). Thanks.

After a couple days the check engine light went out. My truck has a generic 91 tune, and I read that the ECU needs to be turned off and on/engine run 4 times to reset itself. My code is off and truck is running fine as it was. I will not be getting this fixed, as I think it self corrected after the codes were reset by the mechanic, and the codes were being incorrectly read. Thanks.

/thread.
