Hi guys,
Been a few years since I bought a car.
I have one picked out from Craigslist (bought my last one that way, great deal)
This time the purchase will not be local, I have a drive of about 400 miles. I can only do it on Sunday,
my day off.
Question is, what about a tag? I need to take a friend to drive my car back, me in the new/used one.
I can arrange the insurance just fine, but don't know what to do about the tag.
Can I go to a local car lot that is open and purchase a paper tag for the drive home?
Any one know how to get her back without a ticket?
Thanks.

I'd check with your states DMV

Here in AZ if you have a VIN# you can go on-line 24/7 and
get a 3-Day temp and print it up

So OP needs to see what the DMV in the State of purchase has to say about temp tags for a vehicle to be taken out of their State.
