It's an electrical problem to do with power distribution. Could be a failed component such as the ignition switch, control module, distribution center , or simply a wiring short circuit and blown fuse. We can guess all day, but it really needs to be taken somewhere to have a competent diagnosis done. There will be circuit testing involved to isolate the failure.

Nope. A crank, no start would be more indicative of a failed fuel pump.

This happened to me years ago, when I was driving my two-week old Chevrolet Malibu on the freeway--and it did everything but roll over and push up daisies. Dead as a doornail. Turns out it had a bad alternator installed at the factory.

Have your battery and alternator checked out.

If those are not the problem then it is probably a fuse.

Check your dash fusebox first ... but the problem is probably a larger fuse under the hood.

Since it's a chevy, you might also want try tapping the starter with a hammer.

You might also want to just play with the ignition some. Turn it on, turn it off. Repeat. Press the gas pedal once on the third try. Then try to crank it.

I've had a few chevys just stop cold in the road and it was a fuse under the hood. Some other times playing with the ignition seemed to solve it ... and I don't know why.
