Hey everyone. My wife has a 2012 Chevy cruze 1lt with around 75k miles. 1.4 turbo also. The only issues we've had are the recalls which we got taken care of.

2 or 3 weeks ago, she said the car started idling hard in park stopped at stop signs. I drove the car and it did idle some. It finally died in our carport while in park. It only dies occasionally.

She went to auto zone and got a print out that I'll post below. I've added 1 can of seafoam, ran that tank of gas, and added one more full bottle with a new tank of gas Saturday.

Before taking it in, does anyone have any ideas or recommendations? The car runs absolutely perfect otherwise. Thanks!

Lots of expensive things went wrong not long after my previous Chevy's factory warranty expired. Good luck with yours. I'd trad it in for a Civic, Corolla, Elantra, Forte, Mazda3, or Subaru Impreza.

We still owe about 4k on the car. I hope it's nothing too major just yet. Seems early for it to be having major issues already.

What the printout is telling you is that the engine is not seeing the amount of air flow it is expecting. It is getting more air than it should. (lean condition) For whatever reason, the mass air flow sensor isn't properly calculating the actual amount of air coming into the engine. This could be due to a bad MAF (Mass Air Flow) sensor or an air leak into the engine/intake somewhere past the MAF sensor.

The MAF sensor is used in conjunction with the fuel system to deliver the correct ratio of air vs. fuel for optimal combustion in the engine.

Looks like someone else has had your problem too: help please engine code P1101 2012 Chevy Cruze - Cruze 1.4L Turbo - Chevrolet Cruze Forum

Could be a dirty throttle body and your catalytic converter could be going bad.

Could be the PCV valve which is part of the intake manifold.
