Has anybody seen reviews, or know of a release timeframe for the Traverse RS trim, apparently the only trim that'll get the 2.0 turbo 4?

The wife and I are interested in a new car in the next couple of months. The Explorer was OK I guess, but it excited me zero. The RS Traverse has me intrigued, at least for a vehicle in my "married with children" stage of life.

Looks like the RS trim will be out in the fourth quarter of 2018. Even thou Chevy has trim some weight off the Traverse I'm a bit hesitant on the 4 banger. One report said mileage was 2 mpg less than the V6. I have a sibling of the Traverse, would hate to think about driveing with a 4 turbo banger especially in hilly terrain.

Ouch, that's quite a ways out...

I understand your concern... It was pretty much universal opinion that the 2.0 Ecoboost in the Explorer was absolutely horrid. They're saying that this 2.0 turbo Chevy (the LTG I believe they call it...) has more torque than the V6 though, so that's encouraging...

Additionally, I've since read that that's the only mechanical change to the RS trim... I was really hoping for maybe a sportier suspension or something. Oh well.

Oops, might have made a mistake.

1 add says mid 2017.

2 add says 4th quarter 2017.

Check with your Chevy dealer. I'm so confused reading web site info on the release date.

I really like the re-design, especially the roof line. Too many trim levels IMO.

A turbo on a gasoline engine is a bad deal. The turbo adds to much stress to the rods & pistons of a gas engine that speeds up, (or melts the pistons over time), the wear cycle. Diesels survive a turbo due to the oily diesel fuel and stronger components.

Adding a turbo to a gas engine helps sell cars to unsuspecting car customers that buy the factory lies about turbos in gas engines.
