I thinking about buying this car and it will have 100,000 miles on it for 10.00 thousand dollars. Is this a good vehicle to buy?

Thanks.

I have a friend that bought one a few years back ( new ) and he considered it
a modern day Vega. It spent more time at the dealership then his driveway.

The only Spark worth having is the EV version. It gets rid of the issues of the gasser and also, as a byproduct, becomes fun to drive. They've proven to be reliable, quick, and efficient. BUT, they only have an 85-90 mile range.

The gasser just sucks all around. And with 100k on it, should not cost more than $4-5k. 10 grand can get you one with less than 20k miles on it.

If you want a little hatchback, look at a Honda Fit - its a better car and more reliable too.

Agreed, and you can pick one up with 100k miles on it for under $5k, as well.

What year is this Spark? I find it suspicious you found a Spark with 100,000 miles and it’s worth $10,000. Price seems high for the miles.

I went to Kelly Blue Book to do a value check. I selected the highest version, the 2LT, and input the miles and from a dealer it came back between 5 to 7 thousand in value. Could get a more accurate price range if I knew the exact model, options, and zip code. I intentionally selected top of the line to show you that most likely they’re asking far too much for the vehicle. I’d also look for a vehicle history report. Was it a single previous private owner or was it owned by a company as part of their fleet? I can’t imagine someone putting 100,000 miles in 5 years on a Chevy Spark as their personal use vehicle. Not saying it isn’t possible. Just seems more likely it was used like a courier vehicle for a company which means many miles a day of city traffic driving.

with 100k that looks like it should be less than $5k. You can get them with half that for under $7k.
