At dealer now, engine misfire was causing the TC issue, and there is an issue with the torque converter.

$1000 today, and if the torque converter needs replaced, $3000

I used to lease, but now I'm retired and my goal is to keep this little car until I'm 80 (>4 years) then quit driving. Plus, I like it.

p.s. - no it is not 4 wheel drive. 2.0 turbo
