I would think with the economy slowing that has to be crimping sales and inventories need to get moved.

Still ton of research to do...but 50k for a Z06 around Christmas seems like a tentative plan.
I know that a guy (in another forum) was selling a black C6 Z for around $50k in the Kansas City area. I don't know if his car sold yet, but he was making room for a new ZR1 in his garage. If that's something you want more info about, shoot me a PM.

Thanks but I have a lot more homework to do yet so the timing isn't right.

No worries, just wanted to pass the info along in case it helped. Also serves as an example of nice Z's in the $50k range.

Ok, so get ready to laugh.

I went to look at some vettes today and the dealer had a new 2007 Z06 priced to move...I bought it.

Silver color, I absolutely love it.

Thankyou for all the input!

One has to wonder why he still had a new 2007 when the 2009 model year is about to start. Sounds like it wasn't priced low enough to move until you wandered in.

61k and it had the top end package. (LZ2)
30 miles on it. MSRP was 75k
Used ones I had been eyeing on the net were upper 50's.
I had actually gone to look at a used one they had on their lot but it had sold.

I am happy. I might have gotten it cheaper but, oh well...I am not going to quibble over a couple K. It has been a REALLY tough time for me lately. My wife got breast cancer 5 years ago and relapsed and passed this April. I have 2 young sons 9 & 11....this is a really nice treat for me. I am extremely financially conservative...I paid cash, my kids college is already covered, I own my house blah blah blah....this is a *release* for me and I love it. :-)
(I'm not bashing you, just telling you my situation)

P.S. The vehicle age regarding warranty could be an issue, but I work for one of the major private lable service contract providers so I get the employee rate for those..ie) dirt cheap... so I will likely buy a 7 year 70k mile (etc.) contract on it so problem solved. :-)

Warranty shouldn't be an issue. It starts when you buy it, not based on the vehicle's actual age.

No laughing here. Just glad to hear that you found a car that you love. Post up some pics of the new ride when you get a chance. Congratulations!
