I've been debating where to trade up my '03 Z06 for an '05+ (Convertible or Z06).

I can't decide which I think looks better and is the overall nicer car (and would be worth the $5-10k I would have to pay for a trade-in)

How many of you would pay $5-10k to trade up to the C6 or would you keep the C5Z?

C6 without question. I would take a base C6 over a C5 Z06. It's a much better looking (inside and out) car and the base C6 isn't much slower than a C5 Z06. The two generatios are light years apart in terms of refinement.

I like the body style of the C5 better than the C6, but I like the power of the C6 better than the C5. Hard saying which one I'd rather go with.

I would take the C5. When the C6 came out I was very disappointed, especially with the rear end. However, they grew on me now but I like the hidden headlights and overall shape of the C5 better.

C6 all day, every day. Its so much better a car to drive than the C5, its ridiculous. Fit and finish are also better, although I think GM still needs to improve the interior.

Imo the ones to get are the C6 with Z51 package, preferably 08 or newer, with the short shifter, or the Grand Sport now that its out.

Regardless, I could see a C6 GS in my stable some day, and i wouldn't have even considered a Corvette before the C6.

Targa or convertible, its a great car.

The big fat arse of the C5 is absolutely ungainly. The C6 finally gave it some shape and proportionality. Pop-up headlights are so 1980s (and it's two more electric moving parts that can break), so I don't miss those either. The C5 was a huge improvement over the C4, but the C6 finally took the styling to where the C5 styling should have been.

Having driven both, I wouldn't even consider a C5.

I've always thought C5's were incredibly sexy, C5 Z06 is in my opinion about as sexy as it gets for a newer car, absolutely love them.

Aside from looks, the C6 is superior in just about everything really.

Interesting responses guys. Sounds like with looks it's about a 50/50 tie, and the C6 wins in everything else.

It looks like Hertz has specials now on the '10 ZHZ Corvette models, so I think the next step for me will be to rent one and see for myself if it's worth the upgrade.

I would say the C6 with the LS2/ LS3 it put down more power than the C5 ZO6 did with a much more useable power range make sure to get the Z-51 pkg though
to be honest I love the look of the C4 ZR-1's they were mean back in the 90's plus my dad owned a few L98 and LT1 powered C4's when I was growing up so I am kinda biased
