They shouldnt have a problem getting internet whatsoever. I have friends further out in the countryside and have Comcast, complete with super-high-speed 'net?

DSL likely is a problem but i've got a friend that lives out there and gets comcast internet. As a last resort if they are in a really bu-fu area dial up may be all they can get.

the cable provider in elburn is mediacom. we also have that here in sugar grove. the mediacom office is in elburn, on north street. It is in the industrial park. they should call or go there. we have high speed internet with the cable modem. And just as a point of clarification...we aren't really that far out from civilization!LOL

I see what you are all saying, they have contacted mediacom and since they are south of elburn, on green street area near interstate 88.

My father in law lives out in middle of no where and is able to get it but for some reason my parents cant.

The area they live in, on green road, is unincorporated, so I can see why it may be more difficult. They might have to go with good oldfashioned dial up from there. they are stuck being between elburn and sugar grove. They really aren't in either. If they are having other problems, they should contact someone at Kane County for some advice about which provider is in the area.
