Those are pretty accurate, but limited to the near north/nw burbs. There a lot of other good places elsewhere. Scooby's Red Hots is pretty awesome, and Joliet has numerous excellent hot dog joints, such as Hey! Hot Dog, and Joe's Dogs.

Boy is this a controversial subject! Mr. Pup in Des Plaines is good. Fluky's and Portillo's for chains. Franks for the Memories in Mundelein is good but not the best.

Prefer Portillos. Pvande, I think you mean Paradise Pup? Never been there, but wanted to go especially since Diner's Drive In's and Dives went there. Superdawg not bad, Dear Franks not bad.
