I agree. I lived in St. Charles in my 20's and it was a blast! Lots of pubs and bars, and centrally located so I could easily hit larger cities for more nightlife and close to train, too. If you know the back roads and state route (rather than the freeways) you can get in and out of the area in a flash!

Ideally the 20 something single does Chicago, Naperville, or Oak Park. Commutes not your style stick with St Charles . They have a young group of singles and active bar scene. Geneva is much more family oriented. The 20 something from Geneva / Batavia head to St Charles/Naperville or to a college town like DeKalb for weekend fun/social time.
