Travelling over from Ireland and will be in the Chicago area for 10 days in August, arrive on 4th leave on 14th,when does the race take place?

Went to the ARC last year in Paris, great build up,but on the day was very disappointed, hated the Pari Mutial-whats the betting like in the States,i hear its illegal in some to wager a bet

How far from Chicago is the track? Are you guys looking forward to it,the race gets screened over to us live, and i thought if i`m there i must try to take it in-any thoughts welcome

Arlington Million takes place on 11 August I believe. The track is a good ways from downtown Chicago, maybe 25 miles at least, but there is a direct Metra train to the train from downtown Chicago- take the Metra from Ogilvie station to "Arlington Park". I live 5 minutes from the track and havent been yet, maybe one of these weekends! Its a very nice facility from what I can see, being as it is owned by the same company as Churchill Downs.

Arlington Park

I do believe horse betting is legal in this state trackside( amongst a few other gambling outlets here and there).

Not very far at all and easy to get to. They have the new poly-track which is controversial. We were just there a month ago.

Arlington park is an excellent facility, I think it is comparable to churchhill downs.

Horseracing is alive and well in IL - they also have the OTB (off track betting) facilities if you can't make it to the track.

Have fun!!
