This is just too funny for those know Hinsdale: New Facebook page in Hinsdale checks on real housewives - chicagotribune.com

Quote:
Hinsdale is fertile ground for social commentary. Known for its old money and celebrities including Chicago Blackhawks coach Joel Quenneville, the community — population 16,816 — is among the top 1 percent of the wealthiest towns in Illinois, according to one listing, with a median family income of $193,810 and a median house price of more than $832,000.

That was one of the stupidist articles ever written. I went to that Facebook page and it looks like there are only two or three pages of drivel even written.

What the heck is going on in the editorial minds at the Tribune? If it has anything to do with Facebook, no matter how lame, it's on their front page. I can't wait until Facebook becomes the next MySpace.

As for the women quoted way to stereotype your whole town. I feel sorry for the nice women in Hinsdale who don't give a crap about the superficial stuff. That town is too pretty for this kind of nonsense to give it a bad rap.

I guess I don't understand social climbing in the suburbs. In Chicago, yes, social climbers have real power positions to reach for on the boards of the Lyric, the Joffrey, the Art Institute. In the suburbs, it's what????

Tribune Co. is bankrupt, thus they can't afford real writers.

Wow....what a joke. Those Mom's are just making themselves look like idiots and stuck up snobs (which they obviously are) and giving all Hinsdale mom's a bad name. That is pretty selfish of them, but do you think they care? Nope, and they obviously have nothing better to do with their time

Although reading some of the facebook page, it kind of seems like someone created the page and is making fun of the Hinsdale Mom's?

Well if the Pippens move back permanently at least Larsa knows where she can find some like minded moms to hang with.

It's about time our rich people got made fun of. I was getting sick of only hearing about the coasts.

Where do you think the majority of the board members for those institutions live? Probably quite a few of them live in Hinsdale.

I thought the page was funny. I have seen pages like that about all types of suburbs/city and they are entertaining. Even shows about seemingly "average people" (wife swap/trading spouses) show that you don't have to be rich to be entertaining (although those shows do have their rich members every now and then)...I have always imagined that if they did a Real Housewives of Chicago, it would be split between Chicago itself, The North Shore, and the West suburbs (with Naperville being the "new money" outcast lol).

Us North Shore wives are too classy for reality tv!

Actually one of the original OC housewives lives in Lake Bluff now.
