I currently live in Schaumburg, which is cool enough, but has no real bar scene, unless you like clubs. I want to live by the metra to access to the city, Arlington Heights seems good, does anyone agree or disagree?

Yeah, you cant go wrong with Arlington Heights. If you like bars, good nightlife, I find Naperville pretty hard to beat.

I agree with Naperville, although it's farther from the city than where you are now.
St Charles has a great bar scene - bars, not clubs.
