We are negtiating a contract for a house in Lake Zurich off Quentin Rd. I honestly do not know much about the area but it seems really preaceful, not too suburban but more small town feel which I like.

Good, bad, ugly about the area?? We have 2 kids and the school district is May Whitney, from my research it seems to be a decent school...thoughts on this as well?

Many thanks.

I used to drive on Quentin regularly. Seems like a nice place. Plus it's close to rt. 12 and the freeway is only about 10 minutes away.

I like Lake Zurich too, the biggest problem for us was the lack of a Metra station as I work downtown.
Otherwise we probably would have bought there this summer too.

Welcome, we just bought in LZ too, about 20 days ago off Cuba road. So I'm no veteran of the area but so far so good. We don't have any kids yet but my wife did her part to make sure the schools didn't have TOO many red flags.

She likes being close to deer park mall, but I was a little surprised at how heavy the traffic is on Rte 12. That is my only complaint so far, and I can deal with that type of traffic as oppose to I90 rush hour

Rand road/Rte 12 traffic is unbearable through that area, especially near the mall. If they ever build the 53 extension it would probably cut the traffic in half.

Simply put, Lake Zurich is a nice, safe place to raise a family.

Thanks everyone. Our offer was accepted and we are looking forward to the move. Just wish the taxes were not so high
