Hi all - just wondering about life in Big Rock, IL and looking for insight, opinions, etc. (excluding schools, that's not a factor). We are checking out a house for sale there. We'd be moving from just a few towns over.

We're seeking peace and quiet, which it looks like we can get, plus it's not too far from "civilization" (meaning grocery and other shopping I like to do on Randall Rd. that won't take forever to get to.)

I can't confirm whether or not they have their own police/fire station and wondering about how that all works.

Thank you

Big Rock is far far out there. Been through there once. You won't hit "civilization" till you get to Randall Road

Life in Big Rock is a little more laid back. parts of the town are incorporated, part is not and is regulated by kane county. they have a park district, but I don't know a lot about that. Civilization is closer than randall road. there is grocery shopping, doctors, eye doctor, dentists in sugar grove. the amount of quiet depends on where you are looking. the train tracks run right through town and there are over 40 trains a day. planes do fly in and out of aurora airport and often fly over parts of big rock. if you have any other questions, feel free to send a direct message as I live in sugar grove.
