How much are monthly electric, gas and water bills for a 1,200 to 2,000 sq ft house during the summer & winter months. There will be only 2 of us and will be conscious about our bills.

would like to help you but there are so many variables
size of home is important
i believe you can call the utility company and find out the past historical average for that house.

Even the history does not tell everything. If the last renter used electrically powered medical equipment 24/7 the bills may be much higher than average.

That is true. It's how I came to be in shock when my first Nicor bill arrived.

For years, I guess some older, poor woman lived in the apartment prior to me. therefore, she qualified for some sort of subsidy. Nicor was like "sure, the winter gas bill is only $60." I was ecstatic. Then, my December bill came. $165. Getting the truth was like pulling teeth.

So yes, you never know about prior history (though 8 times out of 10, it may be truthful.)

True , no one is the same with the energy consumption.

But at least it is a good barometer.

Great question by the original poster but hard to answer.

It will also depend on the time of year and if you have gas hear or electric, gas stove or electric, gas clothes drier or electric, etc...
