I'm in Dupage county and understand there is a 4 pet limit here, but there may be some unincorporated areas which do not have those same restrictions.

However, speaking as a landlord with 2 rentals, good luck finding anyone willing to accept more than 2 pets. Many landlords won't accept any pets in the suburbs, and those who do? I accept nice, friendly pets, and in addition to an additional security deposit, I also require applicants bring their pets with them to my office, to make sure they've accurately described the breed and temperament prior to giving approval.

The only reason I even accept pets is because my rentals are both single family houses, with fenced in backyards, perfect for puppies and kitties. However, with small children in the neighborhood close by, there is no way I would accept a pit bull, Rottweiler, or any type of animal which might pose a danger to others. My most recent new tenants even brought a certificate showing successful completion of puppy training school, which was part of the reason they were chosen over a number of other applicants. It's a really nice house, newly renovated with high end appliances and custom cabinetry. There were quite a few families who wanted that house.

Many places that accept pets are not anywhere near as nice or as well maintained, especially not those which will accept multiple pets. Pet friendly rentals that are even semi decent charge a rather stiff premium. You might be able to find something out in an unincorporated area, or pretty far out in the country, but there's going to be some kind of a trade off.
