I work in the city but express Metra trains from the Downers Grove station only take about 35min which is pretty similar to a city commute from the northside except that the Metra is a lot more comfortable than the CTA.

I've searched on this forum and found a lot of mixed reviews from a couple years back. I'm wondering if anyone has some more recent insight on these buildings. Seven Bridges seems more upscale and a bit more expensive but I'm worried that means less young people?

I've heard some people say Four Lakes is great, especially for younger people in the burbs, but others have said it's a giant frat house complex.

Thanks!
Four Lakes is a great place to live( or was 30 years ago) From what I have heard its all been upgraded, and the rents are very reasonable. One of the nice things was you did not need a car! You could ride a bike, walk, to the Pub, and not worry about driving on the roads after a few drinks. Great place to enjoy sports, and active lifestyle.... never heard of the place in Woodbridge.... It was a small startup village...but then so was Lisle in a way. Downers Grove was where everyone went for entertainment, food, etc.

First off far from true. Second, but for the DUI's that are caught be thankful they aren't plowing fender first into you.

But on topic my vote is for Seven Bridges area also. It has a more clean and newer feel than Four Lakes.
Officer Jim, i see why you might take offense at this. I suppose its not fair to make a broad generalization like that. If I remember correctly your an officer in Bolingbrook, I've always found officers in Bolingbrook to be polite, friendly, reasonable.

I guess I'm speaking more of Naperville where there seems to be this pressure to be number on in the state for DUI's even above much larger burbs. I was arrested for a DUI that I beat because it was pure nonsense, I blew 0.05 however if I'm not mistaken in IL there are several types of duis one being basically just bc the officer says so another being you actually blow over. I also found it interesting that even though Naperville has more than enough money they are or at least were one of the last burbs to have cameras in cars. Why? You would think they want it for protection of citizens and officers but with cameras there's evidence if a person was clearly sober during field sobriety tests and evidence of innocence gets in the way of a dui arrest. My lawyer even said he had fought a number of duis for people who had blown under 0.08 but were arrested by lying of overzealous officers.

I'm against drinking and driving. I ride a motorcycle so it's an especially relevant fear of mine and I don't want drunks on the road. That said there's a reason bars having parking lots, because it's legal to drink and drive yourself home as long as you have your facilities and wits about you and are okay to drive and under 0.08

Off topic, but as I recall 30 years ago, the local cops were very forgiving. WoodBridge I think I got pulled over driving my Pantera, they just escorted me back to Four Lakes, no ticket. That car really attracted chicks, even more the Police. It looked like I was speeding when I was parked ! The main reason I sold it, man was it fast !

I don't want to drive this too far off topic and get into legalities of DUI's, etc. I also won't say anything negative of another PD, but... most Police from other towns won't go drinking in Naperville. Draw your own conclusions there. Lol.

As I recall Naperville was a sleepy small town separated by the Catholic Monastery. a few corn fields, and Lisle, which also was very small. In those days Naperville was already having drug problems in the schools, and in its downtown. Four lakers mostly stayed away from Naperville.Downers Grove was much more progressive with its many shops and stores. My how things have changed. Naperville is so large and spread out these days. There are still some cornfields going west to Aurora and Fox mall.
