Hi All,

My Fiance and I looking to move to a rental apartment or condo walking distance from the Elmhurst metra station. We currently live in downtown Chicago but would like to find a place closer to my work in the Wheaton, and still close to the metra UPWL.
Does anyone have any recommendations on apartments or condos for rent in downtown Elmhurst?
I have looked online and I can only find the following places:
  • Elmhurst Place Apartments ( really bad reviews )
  • Kenmore Park Apartments
  • Greencastle of Elmhurst
Thank you all for your help and comments
Leo

I looked into this once several months ago. There don't seem to be many. Many multi-family buildings are in sight when you walk around the downtown area, but few rentals. And the few rental listings I did find tended to be luxury. Seemed pretty hard to find a middle-of-the-road 1 or 2 bedroom apartment for rent.

This is less of an answer to your question and more commiserating.

Why not rent in Wheaton? There are some nice building there, the town is as nice or nicer than Elmhurst and its closer to work.

If you haven't actually driven around the area you're looking to move to, I'd suggest you do that. You'll get a much better idea of how much rental housing there is out there. I would also second whomever mentioned Wheaton. It's got a nice downtown area as well.
