To me it seems like a pretty sleepy place except for Navistar. Certainly convenient to Naperville or Downers Grove.

I belive that Navistar has already moved into parts of the former Lucent in Lisle. The general level of redevelopment of the former quarry in Warrenville has been rather successful in both bringing more employers to Warrenville as well as more service / entertainment businesses...

The residential character has always been quite "sleepy" even compared to other small DuPage Co. towns -- the tiny "core" has no hub (like a train station) and that is hard to overcome.

If you like a kind of sleepy, out of the way feeling you will like Warrenville. It has a miniscule town core if you could even call it that. Personally I would pick other places to live but some people really like it there. Its pretty close to Wheaton and Naperville as well as other places so everyday conveniences are really close by.

Warrenville is nice but could use some developing. Its in a good location but still relatively unknown in the Chicago area.

Warrenville is a great place to live. You are close to so many good entertainment options and schools. Want to find a good place to shop? They are all close by. From the outlet mall off I-88, to the shops in Naperville, Geneva, St. Charles, and Wheaton. Warrenville is also a very safe place to live and great town to raise a family. Great restaurants are all over the place, and if you have to head into the city you just hop on I-88 or drive to one of the Metra rail stations in the area. Like to golf? Well you are in luck cause Cantigny is right on your doorstep. You also have Klein Creek, Prairie Landing, and St. Andrews close by as well. Want to go out for a nice dinner with your wife and take in some good entertainment? You have Pheasant Run close by. Like to fish? You have Blackwell Forest Preserve which is great! Like to ride your bike ? You have the Illinois Prairie Path which goes right through Warrenville. Have a child who wants to pursue sports? They will be going to Wheaton Warrenville South which produces great sports teams. Their volleyball team was awarded the national championship by ESPN in 2012 and their football team is always ranked as one of the top 100 programs in the country. You can't go wrong with living in Warrenville.

The downtown area is basically two crossed-over streets from what I have seen, but there is a newer-developed nook where there are some restaurants, a theatre, and a big Lifetime Fitness center. There are some forest preserves, such as Herrick Lake and the newer Blackwell. Fox Valley Mall and the business alongside Rt 59 are a short drive away.

Warrenville is less than a ten minute drive from downtown Naperville, with all the shopping and restaurants that are available there (plus the River Walk, Centennial Beach, and annual events like Last Fling and Ribfest). It's a great location, and a great little town. Those looking for an even sleepier little town might look at Winfield a few miles to the north.

I just moved to Warrenville a month ago and the water does change from yellow to brown, I didn't notice at first I thought the tub just needed a good cleaning but I went to take a bath one day and understood why the tub was so hard to clean. The water also tastes like iron sometimes. I'm wondering if there is an Erin Brocovich situation going on. I'm looking into it. I don't know much about well water

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I remember hearing that Route 59 is a "water boundary" of sorts. Neighborhoods east of it get their water from Lake Michigan. Neighborhoods west of it get their water from Fox River and municipal wells. The former is better quality but costs more; the latter has a funky taste at times but is quite cheap. To make the situation even more interesting, some well water communities are debating switching to Lake Michigan water, and people's reactions are very mixed.
