I'm taking a job in Hoffman Estates so I'll be relocating from Philly. I'm a big city guy but Chicago is too long of a commute. Is there any areas that has a decent size younger (mid-20s) crowd, diverse, decent nightlife, bunch of restaurants, etc. thats within a 30-45 minute commute of Hoffman Estates?

thanks for any help.

Check out Schaumburg or Arlington Heights. Both are closeby depending on where in Hoffman Estates you're moving. Neither one will have the "big city feel" you're used to, but I think Arlington Heights would be closest to it. Both have 30-45 minute easy drives to the city (non rush hour) though, so you could head to the city on weekends if needed.

Thanks for the suggestions. Are any of you in schaumburg and know which apartment complexes are good and which to stay away from?
