I noticed that only Naperville zip 50564 is in Will county and all other Naperville is in Dupage county. City services being uniform within Naperville, is there a signficant difference in 50564 property taxes or there is no practical difference?

Just want to make sure that within Naperville, there is no big difference in property taxes with county- all others home features being similar.

Thanks

Illinois zip codes start with 6 not 5.

There there not be much of a difference when it comes to taxes from the will to dupage property taxes. If anything Will might be a tick higher.

Is it all in the same school district?

Since a large portion of your tax bill is for the school district I would imagine they would be some what equal to each other.

It's a good question and I DK the answer.

I live in 60010/Palatine Township/Cook County and my taxes are lower than my friends in 60010/Lake County/Cuba Township- same house- same lot size- same village- same schools/library/parks/police/fire.

Schools districts do cross country boundaries. The rate that each taxing body sets is independent of others. Basically that means that although you would have the same rate as determined by the amount of the levy for say Naperville city services a tax bill in Will Co would have different entries than one in DuPage Co. My gut says that like m.a.m. the rate for the country in Will Co is likely a bit higher than the rate for those in DuPage Co....

The differences are likely NOT huge.

The really big differences come from the assessed value -- in general homes in the DuPage Co portion of Naperville are going to be more costly than those in other areas. Offsetting this is the fact that MOST the home sin Will Co are larger / newer...

Bottom line: compare INDIVIDUAL homes. A good real estate agent will pull together ALL the relevant info so you are fully informed of not just "selling price" but likely direction of ongoing expenses, including taxes.
