Commute into city from Lake Forest/Bluff/northern suburbs

I've lived in Libertyville in the past (for quite a few years), so I can also attest to its qualities. It's probably about the max distance I'd want to be from the Loop in terms of commuting, however. If you work in Lake County or northern Cook County though, Libertyville is very manageable. It definitely has a different feel from the other suburbs that are actually considered to be on the North Shore. It's probably the nicest town in central Lake County.

We looked at Lake Forest, Lake Bluff, Deerfield, and highland park when we moved here and ended up choosing Libertyville. It had the best community feel, best environment for raising a family, affluent enough to sustain a desirable area but not overly snooty, has a top rate downtown area, and top schools.

I have commented from Libertyville to the city via metra and its not that bad. However, there are closer chooses but for us it wasn't worth the lack of community we experience in Libertyville. As you can tell I'm a huge proponent of the town.
