Its the same way down here on the south side. It kinda bothers me to see some spoiled little brat who can barely drive as it is driving a $40,000 car. I remember last Christmas when I was waiting in line at a store in Orland Square Mall listening to a poor little rich girl complaining to one of her friends about how her daddy only got her B-mer instead of the Porche she had wanted. I thought to myself, "shut up you little brat"

I agree. I only wish I could afford a 40K car. Its pathetic that lil teenie bopper 16 year old princesses get Porsche Cayennes or Escalades or Mercedes SLK roadsters.

Just like in the Oompa Loompa song,
"WHO DO YOU BLAME WHEN YOUR KID IS A BRAT
PAMPERED AND SPOILED LIKE A SIAMESE CAT
BLAMING THE KIDS IS A LIE AND A SHAME
YOU KNOW EXACTLY WHO'S TO BLAME
THE MOTHER AND THE FATHER"

To that list, I would add Lake Forest and Barrington by all means. They certainly can not be ignored in the "affluent" request from the op.

Hinsdale Central
St. Charles North (moreso than East - which is more mixed socioeconomic status)

I'm a '77 graduate of Barrington (my father also was a teacher there from 1966-92), and it definitely fits the bill. At about 3,000 students, there are bigger high schools in terms of enrollment, but the campus site is a monster -- the land area might be bigger than the state of Rhode Island. OK, a slight exaggeration, but you get the idea. I remember that if you had classes scheduled back-to-back on opposite ends of the school, it was a real challenge to be on time to that second class.
