We may be moving back to the area and need to figure out the best school districts for an autistic child.

He's 8 years old. He is currently mainstreamed in a regular classroom of 24 children in 2nd grade. He has resource room pullouts for reading and math. He is quite intelligent, but has communication issues and *some* mild behavior problems which are recent. Smaller classes would be a welcome change since many of his issues have to do with noise in the larger classroom.

We want to be in Evanston, Skokie, Glenview, Wilmette, or possibly Morton Grove. We prefer Evanston or Skokie as we lived in those places and love them. His daddy would be working in DesPlaines - access to his work location via Golf Road is essential.

Since this may be a bit of a strain financially, we would like to have mostly public services rather than paying a lot for private though we can do a combination of public and private (he needs speech therapy and we have done occupational therapy privately as well. We may need some in-home ABA for behavior).

If anyone has information, you can answer here or DM me and I can give you my email so we can communicate privately. We are open to other suburbs, but.. we want a walkable and good public transportation into the city if possible.
