We are looking at buying a house in one of these subdivisions and would like to hear pros/cons. We want a family friendly area (we have 2 boys 8 & 10). Are there sports teams in each neighborhood as well?

I realize that Mill Creek is closer to Randall, the Metra station, etc. Is Randall road and all the shopping and restaurants that far from Fox Mill (I think it's about 5 miles or so)?

We are relocating and want to find an area that my kids can find friends quick. The main draw for us on these two subdivisions is that they both have elementary schools in the neighborhood and we really like this (Our current neighborhood has the school in it as well).

If the drive time was the same to work from each of these locations which one would you choose and why?

Well, I know my parents, who live in St. Charles currently and will be downsizing soon, will not consider Mill Creek in Geneva and don't think too favorably of it. The problem is, I don't know why/what about it they don't like. It could just be that it is too far west for them (they live on the east side of STC now). I think it was more than the location. If I remember I'll ask when I see them on Saturday.

We had the same question between Mill Creek and Thornwood when we relocated a couple months ago, and it really boiled down to there's no wrong answer. You will be happy either way and if all else is equal, go with the house you like best. You really can't go wrong with these.

Niki - let me know what you find out.

Lyndale - where did you end up in Mill Creek or Thornwood?

Thanks for the info
