Does anyone know of any apartment complex in the Willowbrook/Darien/Hinsdale area that does not accept section 8 vouchers?

Hinsdale? Probably an easier question to ask is; which apartment complexes accept section 8 vouchers?

The few actual complex with Hinsdale addresses do in fact welcome Sec 8 residents. The bulks of these complexes are in unincorporated areas along Rt 83 and enjoy none of the amenities of Hinsdale, but that is separate issue...

If one is looking for a quiet rental my advice is to avoid larger complexes and focus on people renting out a smaller building, private home or condo.

Which specific apartment blocks in Hinsdale actually welcome section 8 and what are the exact numbers of units that actually do so?

As I said the many thousands of rental units in unicorporated DuPage Co along Rt. 83 that have mailing addresses of Hinsdale are quite happy to accept Sec 8 tenants. These units have none of the amenities of those actually inside Hinsdale. The OP specifically wants to avoid this type of place. Folks can use google to track those down. There are also a few mid-sized complexes in Hinsdale that accept Sec. 8, probably a total of under 500 units that have access to D181 & D86 schools...

A more peaceful type rental experience is likely available to those who deal with smaller buildings / private home owners. I.ve seen two bedroom townhouse / condo units starting around $1500/mo.

Chet is referring to the apartment complex on Rt 83 south of I-55. There is Kingery Quarters, Rosewood, and a couple of other ones in there. They are not the most well kept buildings in the world and have always been known as a little dicey. My Dad owned a news agency and we used to deliver newspapers in there and I was always freaked out about running through those halls in the pre dawn hours. Not the safest feeling place.

I have always known that area to be considered unincorporated Hinsdale so it is not the same as the village of Hinsdale that you may be thinking about.

It's now unlawful to deny them in Cook County based on Section 8. They amended the human rights ordinance. You can buy out of it by going to an area where the rents are higher than what Section 8 pays or otherwise you'll probably get them.

To the best of my knowledge the portion of Hinsdale east of County Line Rd, which would line inside Cook Co, has no rental complexes.

The Ponds complex in Westmont on Cass Avenue right next to Darien accepts Section 8 if I am not mistaken.

You say "probably" under 500 units "inside" Hinsdale accept section 8. Where's the hard data to support this guess?
