I'm a single professional woman moving from the DC/Maryland/Virginia area to work in Burr Ridge. I plan to move in Dec/Jan timeframe. I'm interested in renting a one bedroom modern type condo in a nice, safe community with amenities such as pool, gym, clubhouse, parking and hopefully near a downtown area with coffee shops, stores, restaurants, etc. I have a car so can drive to the city on the weekends for fun. My budget is between $1000-$1600. I'd prefer a community with other professionals and one that is diverse. Any advice on areas to look with great condos/apartments for rent in close proximity (15-20 min drive) to Burr Ridge.

There are several options that you could explore.

There is a modern condo development that includes many walkable options for shopping / dining / working out and other such conveniences that may have some sublets available: Burr Ridge Village Center | Burr Ridge, IL | Real Estate | Luxury Condominiums | Condos

There are some nice townhomes, condos and apartments located a short drive away in Willowbrook IL that include some of these characteristics too.

A little further away but still within you commute limits right in the center of an actual "downtown" of the small towns of Clarendon Hills there are also options that should meet most your needs.

Suburban areas in the region that also have some of the amenities you desire can be found in Naperville, Downers Grove. Lomabard, LaGrange and other towns but you would probably be facing longer commute times...
