We are moving to the Saint Charles/Campton Hills area and need to find a real estate agent. We are currently living in the South. We are interested in someone who will deal with us directly not using assistants to help with our search. Also we would like an agent who will be responsive to our needs and has experience in the short sale and foreclosure area. Our price range is $450,000 to $550,000.

My husband and I used Rich Harty, he runs Harty Realty Group and is an Exclusive Buyer Agent, which means he only works with buyers, not sellers. The idea behind this is to ensure there is no conflict of interest if there is a house on the market being sold by your agent.

We closed last April and Rich still calls, emails, and texts us to see how things are going, I absolutely loved working with him. He is not located in Saint Charles, but we were looking at suburbs all the way from Wheaton to Round Lake, and he seemed pretty knowledgeable of the entire area.
One of the things I liked the best about Rich was he has background in home construction, so he was able to point out a lot of things before the inspection. We were first time home buyers, so this was great for us.
I'd definitely suggest contacting and speaking with several agents, we talked with several on the phone and three in person before going with Rich, and while we were very happy with him, this is your house so it's important to be comfortable with your agent.
