Also look into Roosevelt Rd on the Oak Park Berwyn borderline. There is Fitzgeralds, and Wire, and also the Friendly Tap or Pub which is a bar. I have not been to any of these but have heard of them. There are supposedly some good bars in Berwyn such as Cigar And Stripes and there is an Irish Pub somewhere too I have heard about.

Oak Park's rowdy nightlife = guy sheepishly putting out a cigarette in front of Avenue Ale house or perhaps a guy cheering to loudly for the Blackhawks inside Kinderhook. That's as rowdy as it's gonna get.

... the gals that live in Oak Park. The overwhelmingly well educated / professional class types that call Oak Park home have specifically choosen the quiet area to avoid the sorts of places that Lakeview and other rowdy areas attract.

Unless the alleged "multi-story brew pub" can overcome these sorts of issues it could be a very unfun place...

I am continually trying to do my part to "bring the fun back again", but now I have the headwinds of the US' "7th most snobby small city" facing me. Oh well, one good IPA at a time.

This list is kind of funny. I guess "snobby" means well-off, educated, and sophisticated according to their criteria.

Yes, very well could be the list of the 10 most sophisticated cities. I think this "bad" press is actually good press. Given the criteria, I don't think the people in Oak Park (or the #4 big city, Naperville) need to worry about this headline having a negative effect on the town.

It was sort of tongue-in-cheek. I think all of the small cities on this list are pretty nice.

It's kind of a humblebrag done by someone else. Not sure there is much to it though.
