Here's a question for those that drive to the Metra stations without montly parking permits: Say you drive to the station and can't find a parking spot... What do you do? Just drive in to the Loop and call your boss to say you'll be a half hour late? Ditch you car in an illegal space? Call in sick?

Park illegally with a good 50% change of getting a ticket. I used to do the trick of parking in the 9:00 am 5th Avenue parking area and then calling in the ticket payment at 9:00 am on the dot, but the Naperville PD is now wise to this maneuver, unfortunately.

The main recourse (after ensuring that there is really no parking) is to just drive to the Belmont station, where there is always parking, in my experience.

I've never failed to find a spot in the south lot (Fairway), but sometimes I have to park on the outside of the lot which is fine ... I can use the exercise.

I am seeing some homes with backyards that face Knoch Knolls road. Is this a huge reason why they are on the market still?

I liked the subdivision Tall Grass because it was near 95th and Rt 59 and in school district #204 which fed into Neaqua Valley H.S. It is also a pool club community. That might be a little far to travel to the Metra everyday though. The area near Hobson (and of course downtown Naperville) is also very nice, but obviously way more expensive! I believe that feeds into the Naperville Central H.S. There are various price points in Naperville, but the cheaper the home the older it is and probably the more updating it will need. With that said, you can easily find a home for $450K. It's the property taxes you have to watch out for!

Naperville is very large and I would suggest driving around within the radius you want to live as Naperville's points can span about a half hour from one direction to another. Redfin.com is a good website with a lot of information. I suggest getting a local realtor from Naperville as well.

We just recently moved into the Meadow Glens neighborhood, University Heights and so far it's been a great experience. I would highly recommend it!
