The property taxes in Lansing IL are ridiculous. I don't understand why the property taxes charged are different for each house. One house could be $3000 and the house next door is $5000. And the next question is what does Lansing do with all the taxes they collect from home owners. The streets in Lansing Il are in need of desperate repair. And when you call the village to report a pot hole you would do better to fill it yourself. However, home owners are paying way to high taxes to tear up their vehicle to drive on streets that are like a chuck wagon road. The city of Lansing needs some blood in its leadership to address the issues and concerns of the people of Lansing. I mean all the people regardless of color.
