I notice a lot of villages were incorporated in 1956: Elk Grove Village, Schaumburg, Lisle. 1958 seems to be runner up. Did the State pass legislation giving cash bonuses for incorporating, or perhaps temporarily ease the rules? Some would say just coincidence, about a decade past WW2 when development restarted after a long pause with Great Depression and war. I thought some had been incorporated for decades, but no. They were known but always unincorporated until that "magic" year. Any historians have some insight?
