Default What's it like in Frankfort?

Hello, I'm from Michigan and may be possibly moving to Illinois for a job opportunity in Kankakee, IL. I drove by the location and area, and while the job may be great, I don't think I would live in the area. I've been searching the net for possible suburbs that aren't too far -- Tinley Park, Country Club Hills, Manteno, and now Frankfort -- but since I'm not familiar with the area, or the state in general, I'm really need some help and I'd like to drive no longer than 30 to 40 minutes away from the job.

BTW, I'm a single black female, mid 40's, more of the surburban type than truly city, though I was raised in the city, when it was a lot different than it is now. Don't consider myself to be rural at all, but I am an introvert and love wide-spread, scenic areas. However, with the right environment and amenities, I could adapt. Love peace and mostly quiet environments that are safe when I arrive home after a hectic day at work.

Any opinions, help would be appreciated!

Check out Bourbonnais. It's a bedroom community adjacent to Kankakee that's exactly like you describe your ideal town.

Hello. I'm looking for in the area up to $1,000. Hoping I can get a 2-bedroom apartment or something. I'll look into the other city mentioned also.
Thanks!
