This is the advice we get from the police?

In this situation, why would the other driver(s) be expected to come to court? How would they even know about this drivers ticket problems? No one if going to subpeona the other drivers and make them go to court, over a ticket. This makes no sense.

The only person that might show up would be the ticketing police officer, to explain why he gave the ticket. If he doesn't show up, you might get the ticket tossed.

Could you clarify your questions, I'm not following. What do you mean about the other driver? They're the complaining witness/victim and they're notified of the court date. It's up to them if they show up or not. The driver in the accident must appear because of the ticket issuance. I must be missing something in your statement.
